High-speed All- Optical Time Division Multiplexed Node
In future high-speed self-routing photonic networks based on all-optical time division multiplexing (OTDM) it is highly desirable to carry out packet switching, clock recovery and demultplexing in the optical domain in order to avoid the bottleneck due to the optoelectronics conversion. In this paper we propose a self-routing OTDM node structure composed of an all-optical router and demultiplex...

متن کاملNonlinear Frequency-Division Multiplexing
Two signal multiplexing strategies for multi-user optical fiber communication are considered: Wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) and nonlinear frequency-division multiplexing (NFDM), based on the nonlinear Fourier transform (NFT). The inverse NFT is implemented using an approach that is dual of the forward NFT and does not require solving integral equations. In contrast to prior work where ...
متن کاملOrthogonal frequency division multiplexing for high-speed optical transmission.
Optical Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OOFDM) is shown to outperform RZ-OOK transmission in high-speed optical communications systems in terms of transmission distance and spectral efficiency. The OOFDM in combination with the subcarrier multiplexing offers a significant improvement in spectral efficiency of at least 2.9 bits/s/Hz.
متن کاملHigh-Speed Binary Division
An augmented iterative array for binary division (IAD), is described. It uses carry-save reduction and carry-lookahead principles to achieve high speed. Logic cost and speed comparisons with two other design techniques are presented. An 8-bit prototype model that operates in under 500 ns has been built from commercially available high-speed MSI TTL integrated circuits to verify the feasibility ...
